Since 1997 the artist Christo has been working on the project “Over the river” for which an approximately 60 kilometre long stretch of the Arkansas River was to be covered with silvery shimmering tarpaulins carried by steel cables anchored to the bank. In 2017, after the election of US President Trump, Christo cancelled the project in continuation of the artist protest J20 and a never-ending legal dispute due to environmental controversies.
