Signed, numbered, dated and titled on verso.

Condition: Good overall condition. Very sporadic, very faint creases, the lower left corner with barely noticeable traces of compression.

Biography

Born in Dresden, Helga Kneidl studied theatre photography with Leonard Zubler in Zurich in 1969/70 after completing her dance training at the Palucca School. In 1970 she moved to the Schaubühne Berlin from where she travelled to Paris in 1973 and portrayed Romy Schneider. After her return Helga Kneidl worked as a photographer for all renowned theatres in Berlin. In addition to Romy Schneider, from the 1980s she portrayed a large number of celebrities from the art and theatre scene, such as Joseph Beuys, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Heiner Müller. Helga Kneidl lives and works in Berlin.
