Signed with pencil “Sagert“. 

Condition: Minimal rubbing at the lower margin of the drawing. Crease marks at the upper left corner. Sticked on the backside on a thin cardboard. All in all a freshly coloured, good condition. 


Horst Sagert was born in 1934 in Dramburg, Pomerania. From 1953 Sagert studied at the College of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin and graduated in 1958 with a diploma in stage design. Horst Sagert then and during the 1960s worked as a stage designer, costume designer, painter and illustrator at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, among others. In 1971 Horst Sagert wins first prize at the Venice Biennale. In 1989 Sagert retired from the theatre world and worked from then on as a freelance artist with a focus on painting, sculpture and graphic art. In 1998 he was honoured with the Berlin Art Prize. Horst Sagert dies in Berlin in 2014.
