Description

Signed, titled, with measurements and technique on verso.

Maxim Wakultschik’s handmade 3D objects are based on exact and complex calculations. They are compressed to the point on the computer so that the convex curvature creates a hypnotic effect of depth. The frosted glass blurs the recessed sides of the box, enhancing this effect. Thus, if the viewer only slightly changes his or her position in relation to the work, the portrait appears like a hologram. The size of the portrait shown resembles the real head size, so that the picture acquires a sculptural effect.
